ZEUS: A Real Dude's Dude

Zeus is the leader of the Olympian gods of Greece. He earned his place after destroying his father, Cronus, who believed that Zeus had been ingested along with his brothers and sisters. His role as leader includes the job of ruling the sky and the rain. He is often depicted along with the lightning bolt, a symbol of his power and rage tendancies.

Zeus's Formative Years:According to Greek Myth, Zeus was the 12th child of Cronus and Rhea, the children of Gaea and Uranus, the creators of the universe. Cronus was the leader of the Titans, but was warned that one of his children would overthrow him. As a percaution, he ate them all - all but Zeus. Clever Rhea hid Zeus away and fed Cronus a fake baby. He bought it and years later, Zeus returned to overthrow his father and free his brothers and sisters. Yes, he made Cronus throw them up.

Ladies Man:Zeus stole the heart of many goddesses and thus creates quite a few nymphs, muses, and lesser gods.
