Basic Solutions to stop Zebra Mussel Spread: - Boat Owners: - Proper Boat maintenance - Removal of water and aquatic plants when leaving a body of water - Special paints which prevent attachment - Boat Ramps and lifting motor out of water when not in use.
Benefits of Zebra Mussels: - Increase in population of Smallmouth bass and other species - Cleans the water - Clearer water allows for native algae to grow
Why it is Invasive?: - It is a non-native species - It prohibits the growth of native species - Humans contributed to it's spread
