Rick James was a famous singer. He was born February 1st , 1948 in Buffalo, New York. In a family of 8, he was the 3rd oldest. James left the United States Naval Reserve in 1964 after having to begin to miss the weekend training because it interfered with his music career. In late 1968 James and his friend Greg Reeves moved to Los Angeles, California and made a band called Salt and Pepper. In August 6, 2004 Rick James was found dead in his Burkbank, California home.
