There was 539 lynchings of blacks in mississippi from 1882-1962

Jim crow was named after a 19th century song that sterotyped african americans. The hardships they faced was segregation of schools etc., elderly blacks having to walk to the back of the bus, and facing the fact that whites would abuse the laws to make black peoples life horrible. There were many succesful african americans from Booker T washington to the first black wioman self made millionare Madam CJ. Walker. Booker T washington was the most famous black man in America between 1895 and 1915 and was also a African-American educator, author, orator, and advisor to presidents of the United States.

''Abc on Jim Crow" i Xavier Dixon is affected everyday from what my people went through, i would not be in schools,sports or resturants if it wasnt for them. The personal violence blacks went through from the and whites in general is horendous.To overcome the white dominance when we were called colered to now being called black.
