In Europe, the war ended on May 7, 1942. General Alfred Jodl, chief of the operations staff in the German high command, signed the document on behalf of Germany to surrender. May 9, 1945 was agreed amongst the Allies to be marked as their Victory Day.
World War II.
During World War 2, many innocent people of all ages, were captured and taken as prisoners to concentration camps.
Japan was the last Axis power to surrender on August 15, 1945. The formal Japanese signing did not take place though until September 2, 1945. The second World War is finally over!
