US InvolvementThe US managed to avoid entering the war until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Hitler's Rise to PowerNot only had Germany still been recovering from WWI, but they were also affected by the Great Depression. Desperate, the clung to Adolf Hitler's promises as he introduced the Nazi Party. By January of 1933, he was appointed chancellor of Germany

World War II

Cause of WWIIAfter slowly rebuilding the German army, Hitler began taking back land that was taken away from Germany after WWI. The feather that broke the camel's back was when Germany invaded Poland. As a result, France and Great Britain declared war on Germany, ultimately starting WWII.

HolocaustThe Holocaust was the massacre of 6 million Jews, homosexuals, cripples, and colored people under the hand of Hitler. He believed that Germans were the superior race and the Holocaust was his final solution to extermining all of the undesirables under the Nazi regime.

US Liberation Beginning on June 6, 1994, also known as D-Day, the Allies began their initial liberation of Europe. They swept through the country, releasing prisoners of concentration camps and wiping out German forces alongside the Soviet Union. By May 8, 1945, Nazi Germany had officially surrendered to the Allies, ultimately ending WWII.
