World War II
World War II (WWII) was the deadliest battle in history. It drew in 61 countries and was estimated that about 80 million people died in the gory conflict.

Adolf Hitler, Germany's leader invaded Poland which started World War II
On June 4, of 1942, only six months after the suprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Fleet Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto attacked Midway Island in attempt to capture it and reclaim Hawaii once more. But after 2 days of bombing, Midway Island was still in American hands. This battle is now known as the Battle of Midway, and was the first clear-cut victory for the Allies in the Pacific.
On August 6, of 1945, the U.S droped an atomic bomb named "little boy" on the city of Hiroshima, Japan killing tens of thousands of people in the explosion. Despite witnessing the horrible destruction of the bomb on Hiroshima, Emperor Hirohito and Japan still refused to surrender. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, another atomic bomb, called Fat Man, was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. Again, the devastation was horrible. Only six days after the bombing of Nagasaki, Emperor Hirohito and Japan surrendered to U.S. forces. The Emperor announced this on the radio. It was the first time many in Japan heard his voice.
Even after germany lost to the Allies, Hitler had different ideas. On the early morning of December 16, 1944, Germany launched a major attack. The battle lasted for around one month as American forces fought back and kept Germany's army from overrunning Europe. In the end, brave and cunning U.S soldiers used different types of tactics to win the battle. This lead to the surrender of Germany.
Born on April 20, 1889, Adolf Hitler played an important role in WWII. As the leader of the Nazi party, Hitler preached hate againts different people such as the Jews. He conquered much of Europe, but in the end, after a bloody and trajic war, he commited suiced and died on April 30, 1945.

The Germans launch a large attack in the Battle of the Bulge. They lose to the Allies sealing the fate of the German army.
Germany surrenders to the Allies. Later, so does Japan once the U.S drops 2 atomic bombs on Japan

In the end, the Allies won, Hitler commited suicide, and all wrong was righted. World War II ended on September 2, 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allies.
