WORLD WAR 2

They would wear camoflauge also known as camo, to be hidden from ememys. The colors used in camo were green and black and brown.

On September 1 1939 Germany invaded Poland, which started World War 2. On September 3 Britain and France joined forces with Poland and invaded Germany, within a week Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand also joined the war. It was a very long 6 years with about 60 million lives lost.

Adolf Hitler was the man leading the Germans through World War 2. He was also the one who started the concentration camps for the Jews.

The soldiers would use a knife at the end of their guns so when they would run out of amo they could use their knife to defend themselves.

They would use airplanes, jeeps, tanks and heleicopters. The tanks were used as wepons, the soldiers would be driving while there was a soldier on top of the tank shooting a machine gun. The helicopters and airplanes would help provide protection, food, health and other services.

Enterainment for the soldiers was live singing at bars. IT was a place where they could relax and enjoy themselves. There was very little to eat. They could have bread, eggs, milk, cheese and tea. They never wasted food, so for example they would keep the apple peels to make juice out of them.

The Liberty Memorial was dedicated to the soldiersof World War 2. It was open to the public on April 9 2004 and dedicated 1 month later on May 29. It was located on 17th street between Constitution and Independece Avenue. It was east of the Washington Memorial and west of the Lincon Memorial. It is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is when they raised the flag at the end of the war, so it was known they won World War 2.

The raising of the flag at Iwo Jima was NOT the end of the war. What about the Allied forces in Europe and the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki? Japan surrendered after 2 atomic bombs were dropped on them.
