This week, we will begin learning about World War I. Below is a timeline to help you get a better understanding of the sequence of events that took place. I hope that this timeline will give you some ideas for when you create your own timeline and remember the term sequence of events.

March 15, 1917- Tsar Nicholas abdicates the throne.April 6, 1917- U.S. declares war on GermanyApril 9-12, 1917- Battle of Vimy Ridge

June 25, 1917- U.S. troops arrive in Europe.November 17, 1917- Bolshevik Revolution.December 17, 1917- U.S. declares war on Austria-Hungary.

June 28, 1914Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assinated in Sarajevo, triggering the outbreak of war.

June 28, 1919Treaty of Versailles is signed.The war is over!

March 3, 1918- Russian Peace Negotiations.May 1918- U-Boats in U.S. Waters.November 9, 1918- Kaiser Wilheim II abdicates throne.November 11, 1918- The armistice was concluded, and fighting stopped at 11 AM on November 11, 1918.
