World Vision Presentation

Current programs:World Vision does many things to help the developing communities like Syria as they are going through a brutal dictatorship that has become a civil war resulting in three years of fighting, 170,000 deaths and more that 2.9 billion people being forced to flee to neighboring countries. More than half are children.

World Vision's role is to provide relief in emergency situations and works on long-term community development projects. Together, these address the causes of poverty and help people move towards self-sufficiency.

The history of World VisionWorld Vision is an Evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization. Since Robert Pierce founded World Vision in 1950, it has grown into one of the largest relief and development organizations in the world with total revenue including grants, product and foreign donations of $2.79 billion.

World Vision's mission is to be a Christian organisation that engages people to eliminate poverty and its causes.World Vision is committed to the poor because we are Christian. We work with people of all cultures, faiths and genders to achieve transformation.

The challenges Syrian refugees face:•Safety.•Access to Food and water.•Shelter.•Education.•Witness death and torture.

World Vision is implementing the following program in Jordan for refugees:•Providing food nappies and winter clothing.•Constructing water and sanitation facilities in Za’atari refugee camp.•Reconstructing roads and drainage in Za’atari refugee camp.•Providing education and support services to return to the sense of normality.
