World Religions

ChristianityChristians are monotheistic. A man named Jesus was the founder of this religion.They believe that Jesus was the son of God. Like Jews, the Christian's holy book is the Bible. The Christians read from the old and new testement in the Bible. Christians worship in a church where they read teachings from the bible.

JUDAISMJews follow the Ten Comandments and only believe in the Old Tesement of the bible. Also, Jews are monotheistic.They worship in synagogues and read from the Torah. A man named Abraham is the founder of this religion.

IslamFollowers of Islam are called Muslims. Muslims are monotheistic. The founder of Islam is a man named Muhammad. Their god is Allah. Muslims worship in a mosque and read teachings from thier holy book, the Koran. They also believe in submission.

HINDUISMHindus are polytheistic and believe in many gods. Thier main god is Brahman. Hindus also believe that when they die they will be reborn again, this is called recarnation. Hindus worship in a temple and read teachings from the Vedas.

BUDDHISMBuddhists are polytheistic. They believe in the teachings of the "Buddha" or the enlighted one. The Buddha was a man named Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha never went outside the palace walls until he was an adult. When he did he saw sadness and suffering. Buddhists follow the four noble truths and the eight fold path. The Buddhists worship in thier sacred place, a temple.
