James 3:5-65 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
My friend, Brenna, is a leader of a Girl Talk group, and one annalogy that she used, was that she handed all of the girls a tube of toothpaste each, and told them to squeeze all of the toothpaste out. After they finished that, she then told them to try putting it back in the tube. Some of the toothpaste was able to go back in, but it was also very messy. Brenna then said that the toothpaste was like words, where once they come out, it is virtually impossible to take them back.
