Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President

Importance Woodrow Wilson, in my opinion, was one of America's greatest presidents. He expanded the federal government by managing the economy and protecting the citizens. He also made the White House the center of power in Washington. As you know, Wilson was the president during WW1. He did his best to keep the U.S. out of the war for as long as possible. About a year before the war ended, he created the 14 Point Peace Plan. The 14 points included things revolving around preventing future wars, adjusting borders as a punishment for those who started the war, and the League of Nations. Most of his plan had failed in the U.S. because they didn't want to be a part of any future wars. The League of Nations wasn't that great without the U.S. The U.S. wasn't the same without after had Wilson died.

Wilson created his Fourteen Points laying out the goals that the United States and later other allies had for worldwide peace.

He attempted to keep America out of the war and even won reelection with the slogan "He kept us out of war."
