Expected to maintain household order.Duties included: spinning, weaving and churning. Taking care of children, milking cows, making cheese, gardening, making soap, candles and clothes.
In 1836 women were first admitted into college in the U.S.Women take the dominant role at home. The home is separate than the workplace.
Women took on traditionally male jobs.
Equal Pay Act Passed.
Women were expected to stay home, take care of the house and have babies. Men supported the family.
The Great Depression began and women had to figure out how to be resourceful with the money.
Men have become stay at home dads when women are out working.
60% of women are in the workforce. Women were enlisted in the military.
