Christina Aguilera's early home life was troubled. Her father, an Ecuadorian immigrant and sergeant in the U.S. Army, was an abusive husband. At an early age, Aguilera developed a deep love of music—a gift she no doubt inherited from her musical mother, an experienced violinist and pianist. By the time she was in elementary school, Aguilera's big voice had swept through a number of local talent shows. Shes been on lots of T.V shows etc. Now she is one of the judges on The Voice. Christina still sings and shows off her amazing talent.

Alicia Keys began piano lessons at age 7. After graduating from the Professional Performance Arts School, she signed a deal with Clive Davis, the head of Arista Records. Her debut album Songs in A Minor (2001) went platinum five times over and earned her five Grammys. She followed up with hit albums such as The Diary of Alicia Keys (2003), As I Am (2007) and Girl on Fire (2009), all of which won the artist Grammys. Professional Performance Arts School, where she majored in choir. Having excelled academically, Keys was allowed to graduate at the age of 16. At the 2002 Grammy Awards, Alicia took home awards for Song of the Year, Best Rhythm ' Blues Song, Best R'B Album, Best Female Rhythm ' Blues Vocal Performance and Best New Artist.

Mariah Carey is an astonishing singer. At 18 she signed with Columbia records, and her first album had four No. 1 singles. Mariah Carey, released her first album on June 12, 1990 by Columbia Records. Mariah Carey's parents divorced when she was 3 years old. She stunned her mother by imitating her operatic singing as early as age two, and was given singing lessons starting at age four. She has sold around 160 million albums worldwide. She is the third best-selling female artist of all time, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Whitney Houston was one of the most famous singers around 1985 to 2012 sadly Whitney passed away in 2012. she made her own album when she was only 22. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Whitney Houston's increasingly rocky marriage, struggles with drugs and health problems threatened to derail her career. However everyone still loves her music now.

During her all-too-brief life, Marilyn Monroe overcame a difficult childhood to become one of the world's biggest and most enduring symbols. She never knew her father, and once thought Clark Gable to be her father, a story repeated often enough for a version of it to gain some currency. Growing up, Monroe spent much of her time in foster care and in an orphanage. In 1937, a family friend and her husband, Grace and Doc Goddard, took care of Monroe for a few years. So on she released her first album but unfortunately she died in 1962 over drug overdose.

Diana Ross was a popular musician from the 60s. Singer and actress. Born on March 26, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan. An accomplished performer, Diana Ross began singing in a group with friends Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard, and Barbara Martin as a teenager. Diana Ross left the Supremes for a solo career in 1969 and hit the charts the next year with the songs "Reach Out and Touch Somebody's Hand" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." She made so many albums and even appeared on a T.V show! DIana is such a wonderful musician!

Jennifer Lopez started her career as a dancer, appearing in stage musicals and various music videos. In 1990, she won a national competition and earned a spot dancing on the popular Fox comedy television series, "In Living Color," as one of the "Fly Girls." Her musical career also began to take off, as she released her debut Latin pop album, On the 6 in June 1999. The album, fueled by the success of her hit single, "If You Had My Love," went platinum within two weeks, making Lopez—along with Ricky Martin—one of the most influential examples of the growing Latin cultural influence in pop music. Early in 2000, Lopez was nominated for Best Dance Performance for her second hit single "Waiting for Tonight." She also appeared on T.V shows such as American Idol, and still peforms many different places.

Taylor Swift spent her early years on her family's Christmas tree farm. Her grandmother had been a professional opera singer, and Swift soon followed in her footsteps. By the age of 10, she was singing at a variety of local events, including fairs and contests. She sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Philadelphia 76ers game at the age of 11, and began writing her own songs and learning guitar at 12 years old. In 2008, Swift was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best New Artist category, and won the Academy of Country Music's "Female Vocalist of the Year" Award, the American Music Awards "Favorite Female Country Artist" award, and the American Music Association's "Horizon" award. Now Taylor Swift has a new album called "1989" which is called that because that was the year she was born in. She is a successful musician.
