TYPES OF WOLVES
There are three main types of wolf, the Gray wolf, Red wolf, and Ethiopian wolf. There are also many subspecies of wolf including the Arctic wolf, Timber wolf, Indian wolf, Prairie wolf, Himalayan wolf and more.
Wolves are carnivores. Their favorite prey is large hoofed animals such as deer, elk, moose, caribou, and bison. Since many of these animals are bigger than wolves, the only way wolves can catch them is hunt them in their pack. When wolves hunt alone they more often prey on rabbits, mice, birds, snakes, fish, and other small animals.
DIET
-Wolves would not make good guard dogs because they are naturaly afraid of what is unfamilliar to them and would hide enstead of bark at the visitor.
- Wolves are at least 10 times more intelligent than the smartest dog.
-Wolves can swim up to 8 miles with the help of small webs in between their toes.
- Under certain conditions, wolves can hear as far as six miles away in the forest, and 10 miles away in the open tundra.
