Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria. He became one of the most famous composers of classical music that the world has ever known.
Mozart also composed music to be performed in churches. He wrote 19 masses and shorter works called motets. He wrote music for many Psalms so that people could sing the words instead of just read them.
Mozart wrote many types of musical works. He composed 16 operas. He also composed 41 symphonies. Some of the symphonies are short, called overtures, which are played before operas. Longer symphonies last between 20 and 30 minutes and are made up of four movements (sections).His most famous symphony is Number 41.
