How Education Shaped Debrah Owings Life: "I feel teaching has definitely impacted my life. It has made me who I am. I feel working with students has made me more compassionate and caring. I want to be a positive role model and this helps shape who I am. It has also made me a better mother. I know the struggles which children go through which has helped me with my own children. I also love working with my granddaughter and doing art activities with her. Because of teaching I have also teach Sunday School, have been a Girl Scout Leader and coached Cheerleading. I probably would not of been in these leadership roles if I had not been a teacher."

Teaches kindergarten at Greenlee Primary School. Debrah graduated with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from University of SC/ Spartanburg in 1985. Mrs. Owings received her MA degree from Appalachian State University in 1990. She has been teaching for 28 years and 22 of those years have been in kindergarten.
