Wings Field was established in 1939. The Philadelphia Aviation Country Club is a farmhouse. Wings Field is 217-acres. Wings Field is one of the first country clubs in the United States. It's quiet and stately in a Philadelphia sort of way. The dining rooms are in the living areas of the farmhouse. Banquet and meeting rooms are upstairs.

1776-John Jones sold 107 acres to Michael Hawk.At John Jones's death, he willed land to Suzanna Berkirmer.1929-John Story Smith opens a business called Wings Corp.1930-John Story Smith buys acreage and uses it as an airfield.1931-John Story Smith and his wife sold their airfield to Wings Corp.

Wings Field is used as an airport and a school for training pilots.

Wings has 102 airplanes and 2 helicopters.Amelia Earhart crashed into Wings Field in 1937.
