Wind Energy

Examples

Advantages

Wind Energy is a free and renewable source. Wind will be here for a long time so it's pretty dependable. Wind Energy is also very clean because it doesn't pollute the air. The wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emission. Atmospheric emission causes acid rain and greenhouse gasses.

Disadvantages

This is how a wind turbine works. The wind blows the rotors which makes it spin. The movement of the rotors turn a gear which turns a electrical generator. That causes it to turn in to electrical energy and than it travels to your home

Wind Energy has some cons too. Making turbines are really expensive. People also do not like the look of it either. Many people don't like turbines because they are really loud and noisy. They also have blades which hurt wildlife like birds or bats.

How It Works

Where It's Found

Wind energy is found wherever their is wind and turbines. Wind turbines are sometimes on land or even the ocean. It just depends where it's windiest.
