William Shakespeare was born and raised in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon in the United Kingdom. He was born on April 23, 1564. He recieved a solid education mainly in Latin. Later in his life he became known as a playwright, actor, and director in London. Shakespeare was never determined on preserving his work--all he wanted to do was create a good family name and live a comfortable lifestyle. Seven years after, he supposedly died on April 23, 1616 on his birthday. After he died two of his colleagues published his work.

fun fact:William Shakespeare had an earring. At that time, earrings were emblems of poetry.He was one of 7 children.He married Anne Hathaway when he was 18 and she was 26, also she was pregnant with his child when they were married.

William Shakespeare was a huge success in England, and is still very well known today. He is an inspiration to many who aspire to become a legendary poet/play writer.Whereas Ben Jonson, another "famous" writer from the renaissance time period is no where near as well known as William Shakespeare. Jonson joined a theatre company, but then was arrested for acting in a seditious satire called the Isle of Dogs. He aspired to be a poet but he was a murderer. He was arrested again for not paying an actor. He was an unsuccessful poet. He was however, friends with Shakespeare.

Renaissance~the revival of art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries.William Shakespeare was a huge contribute to the Renaissance era. He created so many well known poems, that were so amazing his colleagues published them into plays. Some of his work include Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream. His work captured the entire range of human emotion and conflict, and was available for everyone to see. William Shakespeare is a very well known name, that is known for stellar pieces of literature
