[2015] Elias Cresswell: Why We Celebrate Christmas.

Christians believe that Jesus was born on the 25th of December. But few in the first 2 Christian centuries claimed any knowledge of the exact day or year in which he was born. Christmas the word was created by the name Jesus Christ. The first christmas recorded was on 336AD which was 1679 years ago. (AD stands for After Death).

Why We Celebrate Christmas

The word Christmas means Mass of Christ shortened down to Christmas. Santa Claus's real name is actually Saint Nick. He was a very kind man and God gave him the powers to fly and live forever.

The decision to celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December was made sometime during the fourth century by church bishops in Rome. They had a specific reason for doing so.
