Plot
This book is about a young boy named Billy Coleman who wants a pair of hunting dogs. He saves up his money for two years and finally gets enough money to get a pair of red bone coonhounds. The mail man does not deliver to his house so he needs to hike 20 miles to get to Town. While in the town Billy goes towrds the depot and gets his dogs. Billy also meets the marshel on the way home. The Marshel buys him some pop. On the way home, Billy spends the night in a cave when a mountin lion shoes up. The two little puppies scared it away. If you want to read more then read the book.
The Story of the Red Fern
Acording to legend, two indean children died in a storm in winter and when spriing came, a red fern was growing between them. Only an angel could plant the seeds of a red fern.
