Each night, I will ask you, the family, to read with your student. Family engagement is vital in the success of your student's reading and literacy development. There is endless fun and enjoyment surrounded by reading! This year in Kindergarten, you and your child will read together, learn together, create a book together, and much more. You are encouraged to build an enviroment for literacy engagement in the home setting. This may be a special, quiet spot for reading, or a small desk designated for literacy activities. Quick and easy tips to do so will help you and your child foster literacy success and achievement. For a list of great books and resources for Kindergarten readers and families, please click on this link. Your child will visit our expansive school library weekly. He/she will be immersed in our classroom library daily. Please let me know if you would like a certain book. I will check to see if we have it and help your students check it out and bring it home!Staying connected with our local public library is a great way to stay involved, proactive, and engaged.
