Web 2.0 Analysis

There is a wide range of Web 2.0 tools available to students. Glogster is one in particular that allows individuals to create online posters in a while new way. (Glogster is what I am using to create this poster.)

Web 2.0 tools need to be applied in the right way. Teachers need to have a method behind the application process or students will be left confused and frustrated. Web 2.0 tools need to also be used for the right reasons, and not as a form to keep students busy for awhile. They need to be used as a teaching and learning process for the students.

Web 2.0 in the classroom allows students to think in a different way from which they normally would. These students can present their creative abilities in a process of their own.

Web 2.0 technology allows learners to become part of a global community where they can harness the collective knowledge, intelligence, and skills of others, all over the world, in a way that has never before been possible.

Interconnected Communities

Web 2.0 applications have tremendous potential to empower individual learners and to build and interconnect learning communities; however, teachers must have a plan for each tool utilized in order for the technology to achieve a positive effect.
