Paul Revere was born on January 1, 1735 in Boston, Massachussetts. His father, Apollo, was a goldsmith and when Paul became old enough he join him. Unfortuently, Apollo died when he was 19 leaving him to take over the family business and to care for his mother and six sibilings. Paul had 16 children with two different wives (8 with the first and 8 with the second). Revere was a master goldsmith/silversmith, an ingraver, and a dentist. He outfitted the cities upperclass with Revere made tea sets. As he prospered he worried his life would be changed if the British issues were not addressed. He joined the free massons and became an activist. Paul was called on to spy on British soldiers and report back on their movement. He also dressed as an indian and dumped tea into the Boston harbor and what is known as the Boston Tea Party. On April 18th, 1775, he made history by warning John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were comming and his famous ride.
