Walt Disney

Walter Elias "Walt" Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. Walt loved art and drawing, and he loved to entertain. He learned all about animation, T.V. and film, and became very successful. He released the first cartoon with sound (Steamboat Willie, 1928) and the first full-length cartoon in color (Snow White, 1937). Even when people said he wouldn't be succesful, he never gave up. Walt married Lillian Bounds in 1925 and had two daughters. Walt made T.V. shows that were also successful, like the Mickey Mouse Club. He created Disneyland, which has entertained millions. Before Walt died, he bought land in Florida to build his vision for a perfect attraction. He died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966 before his EPCOT community was finished.
