It took about 3 years (1934 -1937) to finish it, using a total of $1.3 billion, an enourmos amount of money in the midst of the country`s Great Depression (1929-1942). But on December 21, 1937, all the doubters and disbeleivers admiditted they were wrong. The project that competitors had labeled "Disney`s Folly" was an overnight smash hit, and it changed the world of entertainment forever. His first chacter was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. He was a character in which many peolple didn`t know about. He was a big hit until Mickey Mouse came out. That was when people forgot all about him. He was then a chracter who had been worn away from the history of the world. People occasionally remebered him, but they really didn`t pay much attention to the thought. Mickey was dominant in those times. Even I didn`t know about him until I looked this up.
