Volcano:A volcano is an opening, or rupture, in the surface or crust of the Earth or a planetary mass object, which allows hot lava, volcanic ash and gases to escape from the magma chamber below the surface.

Active - a volcano that has had at least one eruption during the past 10,000 years.Dormant - an active volcano that is not erupting, but supposed to erupt again.Extinct - a volcano that has not had an eruption for at least 10,000 years and is not expected to erupt again in a comparable time scale of the future.
