Volcanoes

Stratovolcanoes: They are volcanoes that are built from layers and they add on, soon forming a volcanoe. An example of a Stratovolcano is Mount Vesuvius, this is the volcanoe that destroyed Pompeii in 79 A.D.Cinder Cone: These volcanoes are mostly less than 1,000 ft high, but they have very steep sides. They are built up from piles of ejected rock fragments. Mexico's Paricutin is a famous cinder cone volcano.Shield Volcano: Sheild volcanoes have massive structures with wide, gently sloping sides which are usually build up from the sea floor. These are the largest volcanoes on the earth. Mauna Loa, which is the largest of the Hawaiian volcanoes is the most known. Shield volcanoes are volcanoes that gmostly form islands.Lava Dome: Lava domes can come in different sizes and shapes. A famous lava dome volcanoe is Mount St. Helens lava dome. They are formed by magma building up and pilling around the vent.

The Four Volcanoes

All of these volcanoes are the same but all different in their own way. Like the Stravovolcanoes are more steep then the Cinder cone volcanoes. And the Lava dome volcanoe was build differently from the Shield volcanoe. Shield volcanoes were built up from the sea floor, while the lava dome volcanoes are formed from magma builging up and pilling around the vent.
