CONCLUSIONS:- It was estimated that 50 million people in total lost their lives, from the civilians to the military.- Homes and families were destroyed- The economy was deeply affected by the costs of war- Jews were one of the main victims of WWII due to the Holocaust- Advanced technology, such as aircrafts, played a role in WWII's significance
TECHNOLOGY AND CHANGING WARFARE- One of the biggest changes in technology was the use of airplanes- Long range carpet bombing of enemy troops and cities also became possible- Radar stations were invented for prevention of the bombing- WWII began the nuclear age with the use of only two atomic bombs- Tank battles of WWII also showed that militaries could punch through enemy lines and exploit weaknesses

The Nazis killed over 6 million jews during the Holocaust in WWII
The war caused Britain massive debts - especially to America.
Much of Britian had been destroyed due to German bombing so lots of house building was required after the war.
There was lots of rationing, such as petrol food.
The government put lots of pressure on the people to grow their own food and be self-sufficient.
African Americans were a significant source of man power. They represented 11% of all service in the military. They were treated horribly and were denied many rights, since the military still practiced segregation.
MILITARY COSTS
While the men fought in war, women were put more responsibilites and became nurses or worked on farms or factories.
After the war it was rare to find a family who hadn't been affected by the war in any way at all. Families were devestated and millions of loved ones were lost.
