My Prediction
What I think will happen?
'The snail will move towards the food' ~ Robert C. 'The locomotive foot will provide the snail the ability to move towards food' ~Amri C. 'The snail has adaptations like his sucking foot to allow it to move. It also has a shell to hide in for protection!' ~ Kimberly H.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
How do adaptations help organisms survive in their environment?
'The snails moved to defend themselves when we touched them!' ~ Fernando H.'Our snail was slow to begin moving, but his locomotion was incredible! His foot really stuck to the table.' ~ Osvaldo M. 'The snail carried its shell like a weight on it's back as it pulled it's body along, reaching for the food!' ~ Miguel M.
Students will observe external structures and feeding habits of snails and determine the amount of mass a snail can pull. Students will investigate and explain how internal structures of organisms have adaptations that allow specific functions and how those functions allow them to be successful and thrive in their own environment.
