When and why?The Department of Health was created on April 11, 1953. The cabinet was later named Deparment of Health and Human Services in 1979. The purpose of creating this cabinet was to manage and provide health care.

Why is this Important?The Deparment of Health and Human Services is highly important because our health is important, it's what keeps us alive. Without it, we wouldn't be suplied with affordable health care.

Alaska Deparment of Health and Social Services is the state level of the HHS that closely deals with the same issues. Vallery Davidson is the equvilent to Sylvia except being at the state level.
