War Bonds were sold to the public to help pay for the war. The government would sell war bonds and american citizens would hold on to the war bonds. Over time the governmant pays back the bonds with interest.

Rationing List-Gasoline-Rubber-Shoes-Foods-Tires, etc. These items are to be saved for troops and wartime productions. Many people had to live with less so the Army troops could have more.

As men went off to war women took their place in factories. This was symbolized by Rosie the Riveter, a cultural icon of the American working women. These posters were made to encourage women to work.
