What is UNICEFThe United Nations Children's Fund --UNICEF-- is the driving force that helps build a it world where the rights of children are realised. It works for children's rights, their survival and protection, guided by the Convention on the Rights of Children.

What UNICEF does.All children have rights that guarantee them what they need to survive. Millions more don’t go to school, or don’t have food, shelter and clean water. Childrensuffer from violence, abuse and discrimination. This is wrong.UNICEF works globally to transform children’s lives by protecting andpromoting their rights. Their fight for child survival and development takesplace every day in remote villages and in bustling cities, in peaceful areas and in regions destroyed by war, in places reachable by train or car and in terrain passable only by camel or donkey. Their achievements are won school by school, child by child, vaccine byvaccine, mosquito net by mosquito net. It is a struggle in which success is grow, participate and fulfill their potential. Yet every day these rights are denied. Millions of children die from preventable diseases.UNICEF will continue this fight—to make the difference for all children,everywhere, all the time.

Emergency Aid Phillipinnes UNICEF have rushed to the recent tragedy caused by the Super Typhoon in Phillipinnes on 8 Nov 2013 to help the 4.28 million people and over 944,586 families affected by the natural disaster. They are working with the Government in supplying essential medicine, nutrition, safe water and hygience to the children and their families.

FUNDINGHumanitarian Aid UNICEF is funded entirely through voluntary contributions. The main sources of income are individuals, trusts, businesses, government, community organisations and student fundraising through schools.In 2012, UNICEF’s funding requirements for humanitarian action totalled almost US$1.5 billion. This included the requirements presented in the 43 country, regional and headquarters offices outlined in Humanitarian Action

Where UNICEF WorksUNICEF has locations all over the globe. UNICEF’s headquarters is located in New York. The organization works in 191 countries all over the world. They have 8 local offices and 126 state offices. UNICEF also has a research center in Florence, a supply operation in Copenhagen and offices in Tokyo and Brussels
