UnCommon Core Photo Essay

Teachers (a.k.a experts of our students) should be the ones to decide how to engage and introduce texts in our classroom. We need to be given the benfit of the doubt that we will not project our own ideas as the only answer out there. We need to be seen as the coach in the classroom. We would not send the team out to play in a game and expect them to win their first match. We want them to go out there confident and have stratigies and plays they can reference. This doesn't mean we have the magic play to win the game. We will not hand our students the golden snitch, but we can given them a broom and a goal. These photos express the things I feel are most important to remember when we are faced with ridiculousness.

"Transfer of knowledge means applying what one learns inone situation to problem solving in another" (72).We can give studets the confidence and skills to go out there and do more. Be we need to provide them with more than just a test to express what they have learned. We are in charge of finding things for our students express.
