And last but not least, fish and chips. It is take-away food that consists of battered fish and deep-fried chips. The difference between chips and fries is that chips have a softer texture.

Another typical thing are the pubs. A pub, the short form for "public house", is a drinking establishment known for the culture of the UK. The pub in a village is mostly important for the atmosphere of a community.

The red buses and the red telephone cells are very typical of the UK. Almost everywhere you go, you can see them.

The Underground, also known as "the Tube", is also a very common thing. It is a public metro system serving a large part of Greater London and parts of the counties Essex, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. When the doors of the train close, you can always hear "Mind the gap". This means that you have to be careful when you enter or leave the train because of the gap between the train and the platform.
