Statistics-3.5% of the population, have diabetes -older people more prone to having diabetes-around 7.4% of the population aged 25 years and over have diabetes. -2.5% of people aged between 35-45 have diabetes and 23.6% in those over 75. -Aboriginal people have one of the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in the world.

NatureWhat is it?It's when the body has an excessive amount of glucose in the blood. It is also when the pancreas can no longer produce enough insulin. It is strongly associated with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and excessive weight carried around the waist.
