Turtle and Tortoise Glogster

Turtles are reptiles of the orderTestudines or Chelonii. Most male and juvenile sea turtles do not return back to shore once they hatch and reach the ocean. Sea turtles have an eight-step life cycle. A sea turtle's lifespan is 20-40 years.

Tortoises are land-dewlling turtles of the order Testudines.They have an exoskeleton and an endoskeleton. Unlike sea turtles, tortoises cannot swim. A tortoise's lifespan is 80-150 years.

A tortoise has a shell that is shaped like a dome and stubby feet with short claws.

A turtle has a flat shell and webbed feet with long claws.

Turtles and Tortoises

There are seven species of sea tutles and three species of tortoises.

Sea turtles are omnivores. This means that they either eat plant or meat material.

Tortoises are mainly herbivores. They eat weeds, grasses, flowers, and some vegetables.
