The tundra is at the top of the world near the north pole. There is a water shortege most of the year. About 28 different species live there. Different species of birds come to munch on the insects. There are insects like mosquitoes, blow flies, spiders, springtails, beetles, moths, & grasshoppers that are there in the summer.

People always think of tundras as cold icee places. But they can be hot too. There are two tundras, the Artic, and the Alpine. The tundra is the largest biom in the world. Summers are short and hot. In the winter the average temperature is -30f. The average summer temperature is around 54f.
