How is it spread?Tuberculosis is spread through the air. you can breath in the backteria and become infected. it generally takes several exposure over several hours in order to become infected.

How common is this disease?Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most common infections in the world. approximately over 2 billion people is infected with tuberculosis bacteria and nearly 3 million people are killed by it each year.
What is the treatment?If you have symptoms seek treatment immediately. Someone with is disease will need to take several tuberculosis medicines for many months in order to become well and not infect others. if not treated properly, it can be fatal.
TB is curable, but kills 5000 people evey day
each person with active TB infects on average 10 to 15 people each year
What are the symptoms?there are no symptoms associated with inactive TB. this means that someone may have gotten the bacteria and yet show no signs or symptoms of infection. symptoms only appear when the infection becomes active. symtoms develop gradually, and it may take many weeks before you notice that something's wrong. although the bacteria can infect any organ (eg. kidney, bones, joints) in the body, the disease commonly occurs in the lungs.
-coughing that lasts longer than 2 weeks with green,yellow, or bloody saliva-weight loss -chills-fever -loss of appetite-night sweats-chest pain-shortness of breath
