Tropical rainforest

The tropical rainforest can be found in Central America in the amazone river area, Africa in the Zaire area and Indo Malaysia (Indra, Asia, New Guinea and Northen parts of Australia). All these contentnts are placed around the equator.

Banana plants are not trees but giant herbs, which reach there full height between 10 and 20 feet after only a year. Every banana blossom develops into a fruit, which is ripe enough for consumption after about three or four months. bananas like to live in places like Central and South America, Africa and southeast Asia where there are high temperatures and rainfall.

The Brazil nut tree is famous for reaching hights over 160 feet, it towers above other trees in the Amazon rainforest. During January and February, it's fruits can weigh up to 5 pounds. the Brazil nut tree is mostly found in the Amazone rainforest of Brazil, although it can also be spotted in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.

Orchids are the largest family of plants in the entire world. There are 25,000 - 30,000 different species of the orchid, at least 10,000 which can be found in the tropics. orchids are very adaptable, and grow in almost all climates except for frigid arid extremes.

The amazone river dolphin avrages are about 6.5 feet in length. These dolphins can be found in the Amazone river system as well as Orinoco river system. Amazone river Dolphins feast over 50 types of fish as well as small creachers on the river bottom.

Jaguars can reach up to six feet in length from their noes to the tip of their tail. Jaguars can be found in rainforests, seasonally flooded forests, grasslands, woodlands and dry deciduous forests. Jaguars are known to eat 85 species of prey including armadillos, peccaries, capybara, tapir, deer, squirrels,birds and even snails.

The African elephant is the largest mammal, weighing in between 5,000 and 14,000 pounds and when standing 8 to 13 feet tall. There are two types of the African elephant the forest and the savant elephant the forest elephant is mostly found in central and western Africa's equatorial forests, while the savanna elephant is found in the grassy plains and bush lands of the continent. Elephants have a diet that mainly consists of leaves and branches. however they also eat grasses, fruit and bark.

Main threat: PillagingHow to avoid this?1) Sweden could rais money to educate people. 2) Protect big areas of the rainforest by making them into a national park and in that way protect the forest and the trees. 3) Recycel paper. 4) Use less paper.
