Tropical Rainforest
Interesting facts1. 50% of the rain fall is the forest's own evaporation.2. Over half of Earth's animal species live in the rainforests.3. 1or 2 animal species go extinct every 15-30 minuets.4. The Bengal Tiger's fur turns white in the winter5. The Toco Toucan is the largest of the toucan family.
In an average year in a tropical rainforest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250cm per year. This climate is found near the equator, hot and wet.that means there is more direct sun light hitting the land and sea anywhere else. It rains more than 90 days a year and the strong sun usually shines between the storm. The main plants in the tropical rain forest are trees. A lot of the rain doesn't get to the forest ground. It stays on the trees because the leaves act as a shield, and some rain never gets past the trees to smaller plants and ground below. Trees in this climate reach a different height of more than 164 feet. They form a canopy. The forest floor is called an understory.the canopy also keeps sunlight from reaching the plants in the understory. Between the canopy and understory is a lower canopy made up of smaller trees that revive some light. The average temperature is about 77 degrees fahrenheit all year round, the temperature never drops below 64 degrees fahrenheit. There are many different animal and plant species in rainforests.
