Triassic Period

Cynognathus

Cynognathus appeared on the Triassic period and were one of the most successful cynodonts. Cynognathus was a fast carnivore, they were very tiny animals, and have dog-like teeth. I found it interesting that Cynognathuses haeds look like dogs, but yet they aren't related to them.

Laptocyas

Leptocyas appeared in the late Triassic, and it was a cycad, a primitive seed plant. The tree lived in a warm climate and the average height was 4 feet and 8 inches. I chose this plant because it reminded me of the beach with all the palm trees.

Saltoposuchus

Saltoposuchus was a small, meat-eating dinosaur and appeared in the late Triassic. This dino is about 5 feet long and maybe distant relatives to the crocodiles. I foujnd this interesting because it is closely relative to crocodile and in Greek it means "leaping crocodile".

Glossopteris

Glossopteris is a tree in the Triassic period usually about 12 feet tall. This was in 5 continents and they were extinct at the end of the Triassic period. I found it interesting that it was dominant in the Permian period.
