formally known as Li-Tra-Con, short for Light Transmitting Concretewas considered as a possible material to be used in the construction of the Freedom Tower in New York

Product refinement led to Li-Tra-Con being used for interior or exterior walls, illuminated pavement or in art or design projects.Beyond flat panels, LiTraCon technology is now being used to create 3D objects.LiTraCube Lamp, which is a small tabletop lamp that made ofr Li-Tra-Con.

invented by Hungarian architect Aron Losonczi who was building pre-fabricated concrete blocks

2001

While studying at the Technical University of Budapest, Áron Losonczi has the idea to make concrete more aesthetically pleasing

2003

In 2003 his invention – LiTraCon™ – was presented at several exhibitions

2009

2005

In 2009, the company developed LiTraCon pXL panels, a new form of translucent concrete that uses a special circular plastic unit for light translucency instead of glass fibers.

LiTraCube Lamp invented, a table lamp made out of LiTraCon in varies sizes

History:Li-Tra-Con is made of concrete and fiber-optic cables. Fiber-optic lines are strands of optically pure glass as thin as a human hair, and these are what allow light to shine through the concrete. Li-Tra-Con is actually only 4% fiber optic glass, and the stability of the concrete is unaffected because the cables are so small that the concrete retains its properties. Fiber optic cables were actually invented in 1840 in Paris by Colladon and Babinet.Concrete was first used in Ancient Rome, and is the foundation of history.
