Transitional Years

One of the major groups in high school that has had to learn to adjust is the ELL students. They are still being overlooked for serious academic motivations. Instead of ignoring them, teachers should focus more on helping them transition from collge to real life.

Transition Years

The first transitional year is, of course, kindergarten. Children go from being playful kids to being elementary school students. The transition into elementary school can be even more difficult for students with disabilities. A lot of adjustments have to be made by the student, parents, and teachers. Other transitional years are third and fourth grades. In these grades, the academic demands are heavier and the transition to being more responsible.

Elementary School

Educational Leadership

In middle school and the adolescent years, students are experiencing the biggest growth since they were in their first three years of life. Their brains are maturing. As their brains mature, they are forced to transition from being a child to being a young adult. During this time, their brains start reactivly differently to things like peers. As adolescents, it's a good lesson to not fcus too much on to focus more on the postives rather than the risks.

Middle

There will be transitions throughout life, and you will have students in every class that will be going through some kind of transitional phase in their life. The role of the teacher is to provide support and scaffolding just enought to secure the student while challenging him at the same time.
