A MOMENT IN HISTORYOne of the first signs of track & field in sporting events would be back in the Ancient Olympic Games starting in 776 BC, in Olympia Greece. This continued for 11 centuries until Emperor Theodosius I banned the games in AD 394. The sport didn't flourish until the 1860's.

SURPRISING FACTS-There is a racewalking section in the sport.-There is a Men’s Decathlon and Women’s Heptathlon which include a combination of events, held over two days each.-The set length of a marathon was set to commemorate the run of a soldier named Pheidippides.
