Thomas Jefferson's Presidency!
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd President of the United States. Following John Adams, who was a Federalist, Jefferson was a Republican, and held Republican values and ideals. However, he made several strides in bringing the two together to the same level of operation, and negotiated the purchase of the Louisiana Territory from France. Jefferson, being a Republican, had a greater vision for the country. He had a desire for the country to go back to the way things were, where most men were independent of others, and farming and agriculture were primary ways of life. However, his vision ultimately failed due to America's emerging sense of nationality and pride, that was never eminent before.
