Titanic: Fact vs. Fiction

Fictional and Historical- 20 lifeboats on titanic (only enough for less than half of the passengers aboard).- 705 survivors after sinking of the ship.- April 15th 1912 the titanic crashed into the iceberg.- While the boat was sinking, the entire band, played until their death when the boat eventually sunk.- Most of the pictures of the wreck were real in both versions.

Fictional- Characters included Jack Dawson, Rose Calvart, Rose's mother, and Rose's fiancee.- "heart of the ocean" was a precious jewel .- 6 people rescued from water after crash.- The movie took $200 million dollars to make.- Love/romance between Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater.

Historical- Characters included none of those actors.- "heart of the ocean" was a diamond owned by King Louis XVI.- 14 people rescued from water.- It took $7.5 million to make the titanic which was about $120 to $150 million in 1997 dollars.- There was no Jack or Rose aboard the titanic, therefore there was no possible romance between the two in reality.
