Timothy 2

Chapter 3 "Last Instructions"Paul tells Timothy that he has done well to follow his teachings of faith, patience, love, and endurance. He tells Timothy that a the Lord rescued him in his time of need. Those who consider themselves gods will be persecuted and that there will always be sin and evil and impostewrs that will try to decieve others while decieving themselves. However Timothy has to stand by and truely believe his faith. He also tells Timothy that all of scripture is useful and that it is supposed to be taught to others.I have experienced this in my life as one time I met a man who was extremely rooted in the Christian faith. He would stand on the street telling people to go to Church and that God loves them if someone tried to tell him he was wrong he would stand up for and stand by his faith. This is like how Paul told Timothy to stand up for his faith. Also as a Child of God and a Christian it is also my job to spread the faith and word but also to stand up for my faith when opposed. An example is if someone falls off the path toward God it is my job to help them get back on track.

Timothy 2Chapter 1-4

Main Themes

Second Letter of Paul to Timothy

Bible QuotesFirst verse:" From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesu by God's will, sent to proclaim the promised life which we have in union with Christ Jesus--"Last verse; "The Lord be with your spirit. God's grace be with you all."

"Do not be ashamed, then, of witnessing for our Lord; neither be ashamed of me, a prisoner for Christ's sake. Instead, take your part in suffering for the Good News as God gives you the strength for it.(2 Tim. 1:8) this quote speaks to me because i interpret it as that even when i am suffering i can rely on God to give me strength and that he will always be there for me.

"The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to the legends. But you must keep control of yourself in al circumstances; endure suffering, do the work of a preacher of the Good News, and perform your whole duty as a servsnt of God." (2 Tim. 4:3-5) I belive this time has truely come. In todays society many people disrgard any sort of faith and do things for their own desires. i.e. sex before marriage/outside of marriage. What i fear most is when everyone disregards religion, what the world will be like then.

"Take your part in suffering, as a loyal soldier of Christ Jesus. A soldier on active duty wants to please his commanding officer and so does not want to get mixed up in the affairs of civilian life. An athlete who runs in a race cannot win the prize unless he obeys the rules. The farmer who has done hard work should have the first share of the harvest" (2 Tim. 2: 3-7)

To me i think this quote means that in order to reap the rewards of Heaven we need to work deligently and with God in our lives on earth and to do as he asks. Through prayer and meditation I hope to communicate with God and ask for His guidance as to what he needs me to do
